talk2teachers was a project inspired by my mom's 20-year-long journey as a teacher in the same rural, underfunded Arizona school district that I grew up in (she was even my fifth grade teacher!). I wanted to tell her story and shine a light on teachers in Arizona: a population that I feel is perpetually underappreciated.

There are a lot of issues in our society today, but in the process of interviewing 30+ educators, I got that much closer to the truth of the issue. We are cutting off our schools' potential at the knees by underpaying and disrespecting the people that run them.

It's time for a change. It's time to talk2teachers.

I initially set out to create a 30-minute documentary, which I did complete. You can watch it here. But to be honest... it didn't really turn out as I wanted. As I continue to develop my storytelling skills, I decided to do something new with the information I gathered... and that's this site! It's a WIP, but I'm excited to continue updating it.
